POOL TAGS (Year 2008)

NOTE:

At the board of directors’ March 11, 2008 monthly meeting, the board voted to levy a $50.00 annual fee for each family that
uses the pools.  Read more about this in the
April 2008 newsletter.

New pool tags for 2008 will be required and need to be worn in order to swim on opening weekend.
From May 1 to June 26 the Community Building office will be open also on Thursdays from 4:30PM – 7:00PM for the purchase of pool tags.
TAGS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE POOLS.

REMEMBER: NO TAGS, NO ENTRY

Requirements to purchase tags:

1) Pay the $50 annual fee for each family that uses the pools.
2) Bring a photo ID and utility bill as proof of residency. Tags will only be issued to residents in good standing with the GCA.
3) Tags will be sold to adult residents only.
    a) Tags will be issued only for immediate family members living in your home.
    b) A limit of no more than five (5) tags per family will be allowed.
    c) With a birth certificate or other proof, additional tags may be issued.
4) Tags will be $3.00 each with a discount of $1.00 if the 2007 blue tags are returned at the time of purchase. Lost tags will be replaced at a fee of $5.00 per tag.

Open for Weekend:   Aug. 30, 31 & Sept. 1 (Labor Day)
                                 Closed effective Sept. 2
Regular Hours:

                            Sun., Tues., Wed., Thurs. – 12:00Noon-8:00PM
                            Fri. & Sat. – 12:00 Noon-9:00PM
                            (Both pools closed on Mondays for cleaning except Memorial Day & Labor Day)

General Admission Rules

  1. Residents must present a currently-numbered Glenshire pool tag upon admission and wear it at all times.
  2. Guests of residents must wear a wristband at all times.
  3. Children 10 and under must be accompanied into the pool grounds and supervised by a person at least 18 years of age.
  4. Unaccompanied children ages 11 to 13 may be given and must pass a swimming test administered by a lifeguard in order to remain. 

 Guest Admission 

  1. There is a limit of one (1) guest per each pool tag OR there is a limit of four (4) guests per registered Glenshire household if adults are present.  Resident with tag must be present with guests at all times.
  2. Guest admission is $5.00 per day – CASH only.
  3. A colored wristband will be issued and must be worn at all times.  The color will vary each day.

Purchasing of Tags 

  1. The annual fee and resident tag purchases may be made from the Glenshire Community Association secretary during regular office hours. 
    Check the Glenshire monthly newsletter or call the Association for current office hours and details.
  2. Each qualifying resident may purchase a tag for each family member living in the   household.

Adult Swim (West) 

Each hour, on the hour, there will be a ten-minute adult swim for adults (at least 18 years of age).  Any child age 2 and under is permitted to be in the main pool or baby pool during this time—only if accompanied and monitored by that child’s guardian who is at least 18 years of age.

 Adult Swim (East) 

Each hour, on the hour, there will be a ten-minute adult swim for adults (at least 18 years of age).  During this time, any child age 2 and under is permitted to be in the main pool or baby pool; children 8 years old and younger may be in the middle pool only.  Any child in either of the two baby pools must be monitored at all times by that child’s guardian who is at least 18 years of age. 

BABY POOL – FOR 2 YEARS AND UNDER (NO EXCEPTIONS)

Pool Rules

  1. Lifeguards have the authority to discipline and expel unruly persons and enforce the rules.
  2. Behavior not permitted includes, but is not limited to, running, pushing, dangerous horseplay, spitting, rude language or gestures, and loud music.
  3. Security will be notified immediately for the following reasons:

·         Inappropriate or violent behavior.

·         Persons under 18 smoking.

·         Persons under 21 suspected of possession of alcohol and for persons of all ages appearing to be in possession of or under the influence of alcohol and/or illegal drugs.

  1. Proper swimwear is required.  No street clothes or basketball shorts allowed.
  2. Babies must wear a swim diaper.
  3. Individuals with colds, open sores, infections or bandages are not allowed in the water.
  4. Do not hang or play on the ropes or railings.
  5. Pets, bicycles or skateboards are not allowed inside the pool area.
  6. All glass and glass containers are prohibited.
  7. Smoking allowed in “designated” smoking areas only.
  8. Only water toys or soft-type balls allowed in pool area.  No tennis balls allowed.  Floating devices and other toys will be permitted at the lifeguards’ discretion.
  9. Adult swim (18 and older) for 10 minutes every hour on the hour.  Children 2 and under are permitted to be in main pool during this time only if accompanied by a person at least 18 years of age.
  10. Any child in a baby pool must be monitored at all times by that child’s guardian (at least 18 years of age) who is responsible for the safety and welfare of that child.
  11. Lap lane strictly for lap swimming.  Do not play in this area.
  12. No diving in shallow water.
  13. Diving board rules:

·         To be permitted to dive off the board, lifeguard may require and administer a swimming test (distance of two lengths of pool’s deep-end width).

·         Only one person at a time allowed on diving board.

·         Do not leave the board until the diving area is clear.  No one is allowed to “catch” a child going off the board.

·         Only divers allowed in diving area.  Clear diving area immediately after dive.

·         No backward moves off the board.

·         No floaties or goggles allowed.

SEASON

During the school summer vacation period the pools will be open daily except Mondays.
When the schools are back in session the pools return to a weekend schedule through September.

Glenshire has a 2008 summer contract with Sweetwater Pools, Inc.
