INTRODUCING MACDAN SECURITY

This following text comes from MACDAN SECURITY:

“My name is K. L. McBurnett.  I am a retired Deputy Chief of Police from the Houston Police Department.  I started this company with the slogan:  ‘A Different Kind of Security Company.’  I wanted to create a security company that was committed to serving you and your community, one that had the primary purpose of providing crime prevention for local business and neighborhoods.  On December 3, 2002, I made my idea a reality.
 

Because I advanced through the ranks in the Houston Police Department, I am familiar with the laws governing the state of Texas.  My years of police experience have shown me that the crime in Houston could be cut in half if officers were allowed to focus on crime prevention as opposed to apprehension after the fact.

One of the advantages MACDAN Security officers have over other programs is that we can guarantee 100% of our nine hour day is spent in patrolling your neighborhood. 
 

Many people are not familiar with what security officers can and cannot do.  Let me assure you that our officers can:

·         Make arrests for any felony committed in their presence,

·         Make arrests for any misdemeanor concerning theft, the consequences of theft, the determination of ownership of disputed property,

·         Make arrests for any misdemeanor concerning the breach of public peace.

The actions of my officers are covered with insurance policies.  The actions of my guards are covered with a $2 million insurance policy; the vehicles that they drive are covered by a $1 million insurance policy.  While I have never had a claim based on any incident in any neighborhood where we patrol, I like for the residents of my neighborhoods to feel secure in the knowledge that this coverage exists.  It is true that I am required to carry insurance by the state; however, I carry 20 times the minimum required.    In addition, I carry $500,000 Worker’s Compensation Employer Liability.  Also of note, most governmental agencies only carry $300 thousand or less.  MACDAN Security sincerely appreciates the opportunity to work for you, and we’ll do the best job we can to allow you to have a safe and crime-free neighborhood.”

“All guards furnished by MACDAN shall have law enforcement experience, or experience in a criminal justice related field, such as FBI, CIA, correctional facility, etc.  While on duty each guard furnished by MACDAN shall be completely outfitted with a uniform, a weapon, a shoulder patch bearing the words MACDAN SECURITY, a name tag by which the guard may be identified, and all necessary equipment.  Said items and all necessary equipment shall be provided by MACDAN at its sole cost and expense.” 

 

All officers are certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau as Level III commissioned security officers.  They are armed and will make arrests.
